This summer, the UCPAC and BOLD Arts partner for the first time to offer kids and teens a week-long summer dance camp!

New and experienced dancers, movement enthusiasts, and theater-lovers will enjoy a creative and rigorous week of dance camp, August 5-9 from 9 AM to 3 PM, which will culminate in a high-energy, original performance with live music on Friday, August 9th.

Participants are immersed in a thought-provoking theme used to inspire their show. Each day dancers learn new choreography, create original work, make scenery and costumes, and sing with live music. Expect to have fun, be challenged, and be exposed to various styles of dance, physical storytelling, and incredible music. Sharpen your dance and performance skills in a supportive and energized environment with NYC teaching artists.

A Day at BOLD Arts Dance Camp
  • 9:00-10:00 AM: Get your body moving and grooving with a high-energy warm-up with the entire cast, then get ready to learn and master the opening number of the show!
  • 10:00 AM-12:00 PM: Design scenery. Paint your costume. Decorate playbills for the audience. During Art you'll be adding color to the performance through scenery, costumes, and playbills. Then you and a small group will work together to create a new dance just for your group to perform.
  • 12:15-1:00 PM: Refuel and recharge with your packed lunch
  • 1:00-1:30 PM: Learn a song that ties into the performance and even audition for a vocal solo if you'd like.
  • 1:30-3:00 PM: Work independently and as a team to make more dances through choreography challenges and games. You'll be amazed to see everything come together for one unforgettable show!
